How to Give Feedback

Without Judgment, Blame, or Tying Yourself in Knots

Would you rather get stuck on a rush hour train in a heatwave than give feedback or have tough conversations? We can help.

Overview:

Most of us will do anything to avoid giving feedback or having difficult conversations —whether you're talking to a friend about plans they keep canceling last minute or addressing a team member's missed deadlines. But feedback isn't criticism, it's help. We've been conditioned to think these conversations are inherently negative, so we avoid them until small issues become relationship-destroying disasters.

The cost of avoidance? Resentment, multiplied problems, and people you care about miss out on information that could actually help them grow or keep your relationship intact.

Feedback as an act of care, and we’ll teach you to deliver it that way.

When done right, feedback isn't something to dread— it's an opportunity to learn and grow.

What You’ll Learn:

Don’t Be Judgy: Reframe your unhelpful judgments into fair, useful insights and observations that people can actually work with.

Ask Better Questions: Lead with curiosity and genuine desire to help instead of accusations that make people want to throw things at you.

Give Help, Not Criticism: Deliver feedback with perspective and empathy so it lands as support rather than an attack.

Skip the Sh*t Sandwich: Offer both praise and direction without resorting to that awkward compliment-criticism-compliment formula that fools…no one.

Get to the Point: Use objective language & clear examples.

Keep your Cool: Maintain composure and regulate your nervous system even when conversations get uncomfortable.

Build Relationships Through Honest Care: Show genuine concern for someone's growth instead of just venting (word-vomiting) your frustration or making them the villain of your story.
