Overview:

Conflict is a full-body experience. It engages your entire nervous system, not just your thoughts. Your heart races, muscles tense, breathing shifts, and your nervous system kicks into fight, flight, freeze, or fawn mode before you've even processed what's happening. Traditional conflict resolution training ignores this reality, focusing only on what to say while your body is busy hijacking the conversation.

By combining emotional intelligence with somatic practices that work with - rather than against - your body's natural responses.

When you finally understand what your body is doing during conflict, you can stop letting it run the show and actually choose how you want to show up.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Catch Your Body’s Red Flags: Notice those physical cues and patterns in your body that flag rising tension before it escalates into reactivity.

  • Master Nervous System Regulation: Use breathing and grounding techniques to stay centered and clear-headed when things get messy.

  • Develop Response vs. Reaction: The pause and space between stimulus and response (how you react).

  • Protect Your Energy: Engage authentically without absorbing others’ emotional states.

  • Set Boundaries with Confidence: Set clear limits without triggering defensiveness or damaging relationships.

  • Somatic Listening: Reading body language and non-verbals

  • Assert Your Needs: Communicate your needs from a grounded, authentic place.

  • Integrate Daily Practices: Simple somatic tools that build your conflict resilience over time

Format: Live, in-person cohort-based workshop series with interactive exercises, small group discussions, and actionable takeaways that you can start putting to use immediately.

Anne-Marie Duchêne (she/her)

Anne-Marie is a body-mind alignment expert and founder of Art of Alignment Academy. She works with leaders, creatives, and organizations to foster personal transformation through somatic coaching, structural integration, and mindfulness. 

Originally from Montréal, Anne-Marie is a former professional dancer and Cirque du Soleil’s first Dance Specialist Artistic Talent Scout.

She’s based in New York City and trained in modalities including osteopathy, meditation, Hellerwork, and spent significant time learning alongside Amazonian shamans.

Alan Ibbotson (he/him)
